The federal government already publishes detailed information on every Medicare-certified nursing home in America. Star ratings. Health inspection findings. Staffing hours per resident. Fines and penalties. State health departments add even more — ombudsman complaints, ownership records, deficiency reports. The data is public. None of it is hidden. But it was written for regulators, not for families. By the time a daughter is choosing a nursing home for her mother, she will not have time to learn what an “F-Tag 689” tag means or how to read a Medicaid cost report.

Tiatun has spent the last decade building consumer tools that take complex public data and turn it into clear answers. Before The Care Ratings, he founded more than 60 digital products across government technology, design tools, and consumer information, including GovBidLab (helping startups break into federal contracting) and BrandingKit.io (a design platform used by thousands of founders). The pattern is always the same: take data that already exists, present it in plain English, and let people make their own decisions.
